Terms of service
1. The service
VINtoGlass provides a lookup service that returns manufacturer glass part numbers and matching ARGIC codes for a vehicle identification number (VIN), in a web page and through an API. Access is by invitation to approved customers.
2. Where the information comes from
The information in a result is obtained from third parties. We select and process it, but we do not create it, and we cannot guarantee that it is complete, current or correct for a particular vehicle.
3. Check before you order
Results are advisory. Vehicles are built with options that a VIN does not record, so more than one part may fit; where that is the case, the result lists the options. You are responsible for confirming that a part fits the vehicle before you order or fit it.
4. Accounts, users and security
An account may have several users, who share the account’s allowance. You are responsible for the people you add, for keeping passwords and API keys confidential, and for all use made with them. Tell us at once if you think a login or key has been misused.
5. Allowance, prices and payment
Lookups are charged against your prepaid balance or, where we have agreed it in writing, invoiced to your account at the agreed price. A lookup is charged when an answer is delivered. Lookups that return no answer are not charged.
6. Reporting a wrong result
If a result is wrong you can flag it from your lookup history, telling us what was wrong. We review every flag; if we agree the result was wrong, the charge is credited back to your allowance. We decide each case, and we may use flagged lookups to improve the service.
7. Fair use
You may not resell or republish results in bulk, extract data systematically, share logins between businesses, or use the service in a way that harms its availability for others. We may limit the rate of requests and may suspend an account that breaks these terms.
8. Availability
We aim to keep the service available but do not promise uninterrupted access. Answers for vehicles we have not looked up before can take a few minutes.
9. Liability
Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law. Subject to that, we are not liable for losses arising from reliance on a result, including the cost of a part ordered or fitted, and our total liability to you in any twelve months is limited to the amount you paid us in that period.
10. Changes and law
We may change these terms by giving notice; continued use means you accept the change. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.
